WHY WE BUILT THE ASYLUM

THE ASYLUM MANIFESTO

Where horror lives, nobody should have to haunt alone.

Dropped Dead Dates was created for strange souls who love horror, the macabre, the unconventional, and the beautifully unexpected.

Residents can search for meaningful connections and someone worth dying for. Investigators can test, report, improve, and help shape what the Asylum becomes.

Together, they become part of something larger: a community where people can find their people, embrace what makes them different, and belong without sanding away the strange parts.

There should always be room behind the gates for people who never quite belonged anywhere else.

The atmosphere may be dark. The rules are not.

Respect, consent, honesty, privacy, and safety apply everywhere behind the gates.

RESPECT + CONSENT

NO MEANS NO. BOUNDARIES MATTER.

Harassment, bullying, discrimination, threats, predatory behavior, coercion, and unwanted advances do not belong here.

Respect personal boundaries before private conversations, photos, calls, or real-world meetups.

IDENTITY + HONESTY

KEEP IT REAL.

Resident profiles should represent real people honestly. Catfishing, impersonation, stolen photos, and deliberately deceptive profiles are prohibited.

Strange is welcome. Fake identity is not.

PRIVACY

SOME THINGS STAY BURIED.

Protect your personal and financial information and respect the privacy of other Residents and Investigators.

Never post, expose, or distribute another person's private information without permission.

COMMUNITY CONDUCT

BE CREEPY. DON'T BE CRUEL.

Public spaces should stay welcoming, horror-friendly, lawful, and respectful.

Hate, spam, abusive behavior, disruptive harassment, and prohibited content may be removed.

REPORTING

REPORT IT. DON'T ESCALATE IT.

If something crosses the line, use the available report and block tools or contact the Asylum Front Desk.

Reports help moderators and administrators review problems without turning conflicts into bigger ones.

ENFORCEMENT

THE HOUSE RULES HAVE TEETH.

Content or accounts that violate community standards may be reviewed, restricted, removed, or escalated.

Severe or repeated violations may result in loss of access to the Asylum.
